I saw Terrence Howard perform twice in one week and I honestly don't know what to think! I guess when you have money the sky is the limit. And that's the approach Terrence Howard has taken with this music endeavor.(Hmmm I could probably dig a tunnel from here to Australia if I had enough money.) Well his lyrics(song writing ability) are respectable, the guitar melodies are tasteful, but I would rather hear both of these elements in unison with harmonious vocals. (which he doesn't posses) At the concert in City Hall Park (which ended up being more of a girl chat session between me and my coworker) it seemed as though he was screaming as opposed to singing. At that moment I figured out the dilemma. Howard's style of performing is more suitable in a "MTV Unplugged" environment. That means, fewer instruments (just a acoustic guitar) one back up singer, a stool to sit on, two microphones (instead of 8) and wha-la, we have a Wyclef Jean type performance. (Wyclef can't sing, but he sounds incredible over a guitar and NOTHING ELSE) Below, I've included a few tracks from his up coming cd. I would have uploaded pictures and video from his performance at the Billboard cafe but instead I decided to go back to my desk and fake working. :o)
***BTW the chick who sings backup needs her own record deal...PRONTO!

His lyrics are great and the girl who signs back up is the only reason he is writing songs and singing. His voice is weak. Stay with acting love.
